COVID-19 Recommendations – Supreme Guardian Council

COVID-19 Recommendations – Supreme Guardian Council

A LETTER FROM: Job’s Daughters International

The Board of Trustees and Executive Officers of the Supreme Guardian Council held an emergency meeting on Saturday March 14th, to discuss the COVID-19 virus and the effect of the worldwide pandemic on Job’s Daughters International.

JDI has never experienced a State of Emergency from Federal/Provincial/Territorial/State/Local governments. As a result, the Constitution and Bylaws of JDI does not outline the steps that should be taken when a State of Emergency is declared. Therefore, the Board of Trustees is recommending that all in-person activities of JDI be suspended until April 14, 2020 or until such time as recommended by your Federal/Provincial/Territorial/State/Local governments. This suspension includes, but is not limited to Bethel meetings, Council meetings, fund raisers, Grand Sessions, competitions and social activities. The health and welfare of our Daughters and valuable adult volunteers is of the utmost importance.

The Executive SGC Officers, with the advice of the Supreme Jurisprudence Committee, will develop guidelines for the recommendation/election and installation of Officers that are postponed due to this worldwide pandemic.

The Board of Trustees will continue to monitor the situation and provide recommended changes as they are presented.
